Over the years, I have been privileged to visit many spectacular places
around the world and feel fortunate to have had the opportunity to
create some of the most successful private clubs and resorts comprising
more than 25 international projects including the St. James’ Clubs
globally, The Carnegie Club at Skibo Castle in the Highlands of
Scotland, Cherokee Plantation in South Carolina, Carnegie Abbey in
Rhode Island, Bovey Castle on Dartmoor National Park, England, as well
as The Abaco Club on Winding Bay in the Bahamas.
Returning to Grenada early in 2006, some 55 years after my first visit,
I was charmed and excited by this ‘gem’ of an island which is perhaps
the most scenic and friendly in the West Indies and will, in the
future, become the number one ‘hideaway’ in the Caribbean.
This magazine is a flavour of what will become some of the most
exciting and unique lifestyle opportunities, on magnificent beach-front
settings. There are two principal developments, ‘Port Louis’ and ‘Mount
Cinnamon’. Additional Outposts will include ‘Tufton Hall’, an ancient
plantation high in the tropical rain-forest, to be restored providing
an exceptional and unique ‘eco-spa’, and ‘Mount Edgecombe Plantation’,
a restoration and revival of a traditional Grenadian working
plantation. Guests of these properties will also have access to our own
private air terminal at Grenada International Airport. The progressive
Government of Grenada and the vibrant local community enthusiastically
support these properties.
